Time is Flying

Greg at Lake Bracciano

Trip to Bracciano

We drove to Lake Bracciano. It was a gorgeous drive through the countryside outside of Rome, and the lake was huge! We walked around the small town of Anguillara and ate at a pizzeria on the shore of the lake.

Baptisms

Front row: Sis Andrew, Diana , Jerwin, Janus
Back row: Karl, Jomar, Elder Robison, cousin

We had an amazing weekend (March 28 and 29) as we attended two baptisms. The first was the baptism of Jerwin Duque Anol in the Roma 2 ward on Saturday. (His younger brother Jomar was baptized a few weeks before.) Jerwin attended Jomar’s baptism and started the lessons with the Elders. He began attending Young Single Adults with Jomar and Carolina, another recent convert. We were so happy for him when he decided to be baptized.

On Sunday we had the baptism of Mohammad Manjang. He is another amazing individual that the Sisters found and the Elders taught. We had the baptism and confirmation on the same day because of general conference the following week.

Trip to Terni

YSA from Terni & Rome
We picked up three YSA, Jomar, Jerwin, and Carolina, at Roma 2 and drove them to Terni (more than an hour north of Rome) where we met Ugo Perego, the Young Single Adult director, and four more YSA that he had picked up. We met with the YSA members from Terni for our Institute lesson. We had a great time with them—Ugo gave the lesson, and we did a presentation on Pathway. Afterward, we ate at the Camelot pizzeria by the church!

Making Ravioli

We had a planning meeting with Ugo Perego for YSA, and he took us out to a fun restaurant in Ariccia that is famous for porchetta (roasted pork). Tourists come from all over to eat at the little restaurants there. We really enjoyed the cultural experience and were able to do some planning as well. The owner of the restaurant wanted to show us how to make ravioli! They were delicious!

  1. The district I was in in the LTM had an elder Haynie. I wonder if Sister Haynie is his daughter or granddaughter. It is wonderful for another member of the family to serve where you did. I enjoy your bog. What a wonderful time you are having. THank you so much for sharing.
